The mission of GROWTH is to improve patient health and quality of life globally through the development and exchange of evidence-based knowledge and methods. Doctor Evidence created GROWTH (Guideline & Research Organizations Worldwide for Transparency & Harmonization) to promote the spread of evidence-based knowledge through collaboration and data sharing, globally and across all medical disciplines. Doctor Evidence serves as a well-respected resource for creating high quality, methodologically-rigorous, and transparent systematic reviews and other evidence-based medicine products.
GROWTH Annual License
Two options are available for licensing Doctor Evidence technologies in GROWTH: GROWTH Evidence and GROWTH Research. Under the former, an organization contracts only for its own projects (e.g., a medical professional society contracts only for its own guideline projects), with restrictions on the number of PICO-based projects. Under the latter option, an organization may contract for itself and all of its members (e.g., a medical professional society contracts for its own guideline projects plus offers access to the Doctor Evidence platforms as a member benefit to physician or nurse researchers), unrestricted by the number of PICO questions. Eligible organizations include academic or hospital-based research centers providing this access to their faculty members. Under both options, these annual licenses include GROWTH membership, which confers unlimited access to the database of digitized studies without additional fees. All project-specific costs (other than licensing) are optional services contracted by the individual researchers as needed for the specific research projects, and are invoiced monthly as incurred.
GROWTH Membership includes shared access to Doctor Evidence’s digitized data across a range of health and medical topics. Use of Doctor Evidence software and services solutions enables participating members to conduct PICO-based searches of available evidence, extract up-to-date digitized data on a granular level, synthesize and summarize data, and draft reports. Organizations participating in GROWTH include academic research centers, healthcare provider institutions, medical professional societies, and others in evidence-based medicine (pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers are excluded from GROWTH membership).

This membership network seeks to encourage cross-organization collaborations between members, sharing of resources, and use of the Doctor Evidence platforms (DOC Library and DOC Data). Membership in GROWTH also provides additional benefits such as invitations to members-only events and content, such as receptions hosted during Guidelines International Network (G-I-N) conferences or G-I-N North America conferences.
GROWTH Data Configuration
Doctor Evidence’s data extraction processes are far more complex and detailed compared to standard systematic reviews but lead to practically error-free data and enhanced quality. Methodologists draft and refine DCPs in close communication with client staff and guideline panel members. These DCPs become the instructions for clinical analysts performing the evidence extractions, accompanied by software-assisted optical character recognition (OCR) and natural language processing (NLP). The entire process is reviewed and adjudicated by quality control analysts, and the body of evidence is audited by a team dedicated to enhancing the quality of the data. This complex process ensures that all clients can trust that the dataset meets the highest standards for quality, accuracy, and completeness. Methodologists also perform random checks at various stages in these processes. Finally, ontology managers work directly with clients to appropriately “late bind” terms and synonyms from the data and metadata, as appropriate for each analysis (direct meta-analyses, Bayesian or Frequentist network meta-analyses, cohort analyses, subgroup analyses, and sensitivity analyses, as appropriate). These terms can be separated and re-bound differently for the next analysis due to the specificity and granularity of terms and definitions collected, which are captured verbatim from studies. This unique approach, offered exclusively by Doctor Evidence, permits greater flexibility and enhances the final results. This ontology management is included, along with all services in the data extraction and quality control process, with Doctor Evidence data extraction.
